My Florida River is published by Steve Barnes, a long-time advocate of conservation. Steve is a former environmental journalist. He resigned his position at the Orlando Sentinel in May, 2008 to accept an appointment to the Seminole Soil and Water Conservation District. He was elected to a full term in November, 2008. An avid kayaker, sailor and outdoorsman, Steve is dedicated to protecting Florida's springs, rivers, lakes and undergroud water resources.
